Spring Fever!

Hi everyone! I know it has been three weeks since my last post and for those of you who care and check in regularly, I apologize! It is not that it has been basketball season crazy, but this time of year is just a little hectic with sports, graduations, work stuff and wanting to be outside as much as possible. (Picture is of Jon in 1st grade. - SOOOOO Cute!)

A recap of what has been happening with us. Josh has been golfing and playing baseball. No home runs to report for him, but he has been doing well and enjoying both sports a ton. He just finished his golf season and has the big party tomorrow (Monday). It was a good experience for him, one he looks forward to next year as well.

Jamie didn't play any spring sports and has thoroughly been enjoying doing as little as possible. She loves coming home from school and then getting together with her friends. She had her choir concert this past week and did a great job up there singing away. She is looking forward to Volleyball Camp down in Iowa in a few weeks and can't wait to see her Ankeny friends. She suffers from severe allergies and has been struggling a lot lately. Dr. appointments and new medicines have helped more this year than any other which we are very grateful for.

Jared has been staying extremely busy with basketball and baseball. He has had a basketball tournament every weekend for the last three weekends and all three tournaments his team has come away with a 1st place trophy. Two weeks ago was a big deal as his team (all 4th graders) played in an all 5th grade tournament and won it. It was very exciting to watch and the team is a good bunch of kids. He played in his first baseball tourney this weekend and the Buffalo Bison won first place in that as well.

Jon will get to slow down a bit now that the college is out til fall. Commencement was this past Saturday and while he will have to go in some during the summer it won't have to be every day. His camps don't start until July which he has 3 or 4 weeks of. We are all looking forward to our two week vacation out east the last week of June and the first week of July. Seeing Mom and Floyd is the highlight of the trip for us, but we are also planning to do a lot of touristy things like going to the NFL Hall of Fame in Canton, OH, getting to the shore for a day at Ocean City, NJ and going to Yankee Stadium to watch the Twins play the Yankees. We are also going to see the sights in Washington, D.C. for two days.

I am cutting my hours back at the college a little bit for the summer as I do every year. I have been very fortunate to work at places that allow me that privilege and I love my afternoons at home. My new hours don't start until the second week of June as the kids are in school til June 7th. (They are not happy about that date at all as they are use to being done before Memorial Day.)
