Vacation was a blast!

We have returned from our 2009 vacation and wishing we were still on it. We headed out to PA on July 2nd and made it all the way to Ohio that night without too many headaches in the car. The kids did great. We got to Mom and Floyd's on the 3rd just in time for dinner. Spent the holiday weekend there having a picnic with Jon's sisters, Sue and Nancy (and their husbands, Gary and Darl) and Mom & Floyd. It was weird not having any of the nieces and nephews there - but I must realize a lot of them are married and have families of their own! It made me feel old! It was great to see Pete and Kristina Beers, Luke, Isaac, and Seth who stopped by for a little bit.

Monday morning came and after learning how to set up and take down a pop-up camper that Jon's sister, Nancy and her husband, Darl, let us borrow, we headed to Ocean City, NJ where we camped as a family for the first time ever. Spending the day at the beach, the night on the boardwalk and then sleeping at the campground in the camper, was a lot of fun and we would do it again in a heartbeat. We headed back on Wednesday night to Mom and Floyd's and spent the next day relaxing and cleaning out the sand from EVERYTHING.

Friday morning came and we started for home. We left at 6:00 AM and drove for 15 1/2 hours making it to Rockford, IL where we stopped at our college friends, the Whitehead's. We had a great time with them, as always! We made it home safe and sound on Sunday afternoon, did laundry and prepared to get back into the swing of life.

While it was a very low key vacation, it was one we all enjoyed thoroughly!

That next Thursday, Jamie had to get her braces put back on her top teeth, as well as another expander. Her teeth had shifted too much and needed to be put back in place in order for her to get her implant put it next summer. She is certainly not happy about it, but will be glad when it will all be over. Josh got back into his basketball routine and had a tournament the next weekend. Jared has his last baseball tournament this weekend and then we will all be gearing up for school to start. Work is busy for both Jon and I, but life is good and we are so very thankful to have jobs in this scary time.
