Well, it has been a while since my last post and while we haven't been all that busy, a lot has happened. Some of you may know that Jon resigned his position of Men's Basketball Coach and Professor at Crown back in February. There were many reasons for his decision, but the main reason was due to the time it was taking him away from us. Until the kids got out of high school, we were hoping he could find something that didn't require so much of his time. While that was our intended goal, it might have to wait a while longer. Jon has accepted the position of Athletic Director and Men's Basketball Coach at North Central University in Minneapolis. He is excited for the new job as he missed being an Athletic Director these last two years. There had been a possibility of us moving back to Ankeny, IA, but after a lot of prayer, sleepless nights, and discussions with our kids we are all happy with the decision to stay put in Buffalo. (Ask me again in six months when we are headlong in to basketball season, and you might get a different answer.)I am planning to continue working at Crown as the Administrative Assistant to the Executive Vice President. I really like my job and feel I can split my allegiance evenly except when North Central plays Crown in basketball! I will definitely be cheering for the North Central Rams on those occasions!
Jared is the only one still playing sports. His baseball team has playoff games left and then their state tournament in a couple of weeks. His basketball team is planning to play in one more tournament before school starts. Other than that, we have been enjoying a lot of downtime at home. We hope you had a wonderful July 4th. Congrats to Coach High! He was a great athletic director. Glad to see that you're doing great.
