Baseball, Basketball and more Basketball

Well, Josh and Jared found out their baseball teams. They are pretty much the same as last year and so we are looking forward to another good season for them both. Before we can begin the baseball season, we have to get some more basketball in. Jared will be playing for the MN Suns organization. He and one of his friends made the same team which they are excited about. They have their first tournament next weekend. Jared's Buffalo traveling team decided to get together one last time at the last minute and play in a tournament this weekend in New London-Spicer. I had never been there before, but it was a nice LITTLE town. They ended up losing in the Championship game to a better team from Hutchinson. It was fun for them to play together again.

Josh's high school basketball team decided to play in some spring tournaments to get them prepared for 10th grade ball. Jon has decided to be their coach and can I say, is really excited about it. Some of you may have heard that Jon resigned his position at Crown as the Basketball coach. It was a decision based a lot on the fact that he has been missing so much of the kid's "stuff" these last couple of years. At the age that our kids are, he really didn't want to miss anymore. He loves being a coach and when the opportunity came up to coach his own kid, he jumped at the chance. They also have their first tournament next weekend. It should be fun for all of us.

Jamie's spring basketball season hasn't started yet and right now that is fine as she is getting ready to start her school softball season. She and I had the chance to go to our favorite group's concert on Friday night, Point of Grace. I managed to get front row seats and we had a great time. This picture is not zoomed in at all. We were really that close. It was fun!

This past week Jared, as a reward for being on the Safety Patrol for school, got to go to a Twins game at the Metrodome. For as long as Jared can remember the Twins, he has been a Torii Hunter fan. (This picture was taken a couple of years ago when we met Torii at Benihana's.)Then the unspeakable happened and Torii was traded to the Angels. Well, the Twins had their opening series against, none other than the Angels. I think he was the only one cheering for the Angels in his group, but it was fun for him as Torii chose that day to hit a homerun. Jared couldn't have been happier. Jon was able to go as one of the chaperones (and also as Jared's bodygaurd, since he was cheering against the home team). They both came home with lots of memories.

Well, that's all that happened this week. Oh yea, Dad and Mom came for part of the weekend and then Jill and Katie (my sister and niece) came for Saturday, Sunday and Monday and introduced my kids to the game "Pit". Talk about a loud weekend, but fun!

Have a great week everyone!
